How To Uninstall libsndfile1 On Debian 8

To uninstall libsndfile1 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libsndfile1

Library for reading/writing audio filesDebian 8.0libs1.0.25-9.1+deb8u1
sudo apt-get remove libsndfile1

This will remove just the libsndfile1 package itself.

Uninstall libsndfile1 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libsndfile1

This will remove the libsndfile1 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libsndfile1 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libsndfile1

Or similarly, like this libsndfile1

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libsndfile1
