How To Uninstall libssl1.0.0 On Debian 8

To uninstall libssl1.0.0 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libssl1.0.0

Secure Sockets Layer toolkit - shared librariesDebian 8.0libs1.0.1t-1+deb8u6
sudo apt-get remove libssl1.0.0

This will remove just the libssl1.0.0 package itself.

Uninstall libssl1.0.0 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libssl1.0.0

This will remove the libssl1.0.0 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libssl1.0.0 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libssl1.0.0

Or similarly, like this libssl1.0.0

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libssl1.0.0
