How To Uninstall libstdc++5 On Debian 8

To uninstall libstdc++5 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libstdc++5

The GNU Standard C++ Library v3Debian 8.0libs1:3.3.6-27.2
sudo apt-get remove libstdc++5

This will remove just the libstdc++5 package itself.

Uninstall libstdc++5 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libstdc++5

This will remove the libstdc++5 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libstdc++5 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libstdc++5

Or similarly, like this libstdc++5

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libstdc++5
