How To Uninstall locales On Debian 8

To uninstall locales just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just locales

GNU C LibraryDebian 8.0localization2.19-18+deb8u9
sudo apt-get remove locales

This will remove just the locales package itself.

Uninstall locales and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove locales

This will remove the locales package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for locales then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge locales

Or similarly, like this locales

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove locales
