How To Uninstall mail-expire On Debian 8

To uninstall mail-expire just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mail-expire

Utility to extract outdated messages from mbox filesDebian 8.0utils0.7
sudo apt-get remove mail-expire

This will remove just the mail-expire package itself.

Uninstall mail-expire and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mail-expire

This will remove the mail-expire package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mail-expire then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mail-expire

Or similarly, like this mail-expire

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mail-expire
