How To Uninstall mail-notification On Debian 8

To uninstall mail-notification just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mail-notification

mail notification in system trayDebian 8.0gnome5.4.dfsg.1-13
sudo apt-get remove mail-notification

This will remove just the mail-notification package itself.

Uninstall mail-notification and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mail-notification

This will remove the mail-notification package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mail-notification then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mail-notification

Or similarly, like this mail-notification

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mail-notification
