How To Uninstall maildir-utils On Debian 8

To uninstall maildir-utils just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just maildir-utils

Set of utilities to deal with Maildirs (upstream name mu)Debian 8.0mail0.9.9.6-5
sudo apt-get remove maildir-utils

This will remove just the maildir-utils package itself.

Uninstall maildir-utils and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove maildir-utils

This will remove the maildir-utils package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for maildir-utils then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge maildir-utils

Or similarly, like this maildir-utils

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove maildir-utils
