How To Uninstall mailutils-imap4d On Debian 8

To uninstall mailutils-imap4d just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mailutils-imap4d

GNU mailutils-based IMAP4 DaemonDebian 8.0net1:2.99.98-2
sudo apt-get remove mailutils-imap4d

This will remove just the mailutils-imap4d package itself.

Uninstall mailutils-imap4d and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mailutils-imap4d

This will remove the mailutils-imap4d package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mailutils-imap4d then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mailutils-imap4d

Or similarly, like this mailutils-imap4d

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mailutils-imap4d
