How To Uninstall mariadb-client On Debian 8

To uninstall mariadb-client just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mariadb-client

MariaDB database client (metapackage depending on the latest version)Debian 8.0database10.0.30-0+deb8u2
sudo apt-get remove mariadb-client

This will remove just the mariadb-client package itself.

Uninstall mariadb-client and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mariadb-client

This will remove the mariadb-client package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mariadb-client then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mariadb-client

Or similarly, like this mariadb-client

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mariadb-client
