How To Uninstall mate-terminal-common On Debian 8

To uninstall mate-terminal-common just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mate-terminal-common

MATE terminal emulator application (common files)Debian 8.0x111.8.1+dfsg1-4
sudo apt-get remove mate-terminal-common

This will remove just the mate-terminal-common package itself.

Uninstall mate-terminal-common and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mate-terminal-common

This will remove the mate-terminal-common package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mate-terminal-common then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mate-terminal-common

Or similarly, like this mate-terminal-common

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mate-terminal-common
