How To Uninstall mate-utils-dbg On Debian 8

To uninstall mate-utils-dbg just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mate-utils-dbg

MATE desktop utilities (debugging symbols)Debian 8.0debug1.8.1+dfsg1-2+deb8u1
sudo apt-get remove mate-utils-dbg

This will remove just the mate-utils-dbg package itself.

Uninstall mate-utils-dbg and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mate-utils-dbg

This will remove the mate-utils-dbg package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mate-utils-dbg then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mate-utils-dbg

Or similarly, like this mate-utils-dbg

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mate-utils-dbg
