How To Uninstall mcelog On Debian 8

To uninstall mcelog just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mcelog

x86 Machine Check Exceptions collector and decoderDebian 8.0admin104-1
sudo apt-get remove mcelog

This will remove just the mcelog package itself.

Uninstall mcelog and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mcelog

This will remove the mcelog package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mcelog then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mcelog

Or similarly, like this mcelog

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mcelog
