How To Uninstall mdadm On Debian 8

To uninstall mdadm just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mdadm

sudo apt-get remove mdadm

This will remove just the mdadm package itself.

Uninstall mdadm and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mdadm

This will remove the mdadm package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mdadm then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mdadm

Or similarly, like this mdadm

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mdadm
