How To Uninstall mediainfo On Debian 8

To uninstall mediainfo just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mediainfo

command-line utility for reading information from audio/video filesDebian 8.0utils0.7.70-1
sudo apt-get remove mediainfo

This will remove just the mediainfo package itself.

Uninstall mediainfo and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mediainfo

This will remove the mediainfo package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mediainfo then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mediainfo

Or similarly, like this mediainfo

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mediainfo
