How To Uninstall mediawiki-extensions-base On Debian 8

To uninstall mediawiki-extensions-base just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mediawiki-extensions-base

Extensions for MediaWiki -- Base packageDebian 8.0web3.7
sudo apt-get remove mediawiki-extensions-base

This will remove just the mediawiki-extensions-base package itself.

Uninstall mediawiki-extensions-base and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mediawiki-extensions-base

This will remove the mediawiki-extensions-base package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mediawiki-extensions-base then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mediawiki-extensions-base

Or similarly, like this mediawiki-extensions-base

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mediawiki-extensions-base
