How To Uninstall meep-mpi-default On Debian 8

To uninstall meep-mpi-default just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just meep-mpi-default

software package for FDTD simulation, parallel (OpenMPI) versionDebian 8.0science1.2.1-2+b1
sudo apt-get remove meep-mpi-default

This will remove just the meep-mpi-default package itself.

Uninstall meep-mpi-default and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove meep-mpi-default

This will remove the meep-mpi-default package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for meep-mpi-default then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge meep-mpi-default

Or similarly, like this meep-mpi-default

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove meep-mpi-default
