How To Uninstall menu On Debian 8

To uninstall menu just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just menu

generates programs menu for all menu-aware applicationsDebian 8.0admin2.1.47
sudo apt-get remove menu

This will remove just the menu package itself.

Uninstall menu and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove menu

This will remove the menu package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for menu then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge menu

Or similarly, like this menu

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove menu
