How To Uninstall metar On Debian 8

To uninstall metar just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just metar

utility to download/decode METAR reportsDebian 8.0utils20061030.1-2+deb8u1
sudo apt-get remove metar

This will remove just the metar package itself.

Uninstall metar and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove metar

This will remove the metar package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for metar then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge metar

Or similarly, like this metar

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove metar
