How To Uninstall mjpegtools On Debian 8

To uninstall mjpegtools just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mjpegtools

MJPEG capture/editing/replay and MPEG encoding toolsetDebian 8.0video1:2.1.0+debian-3
sudo apt-get remove mjpegtools

This will remove just the mjpegtools package itself.

Uninstall mjpegtools and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mjpegtools

This will remove the mjpegtools package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mjpegtools then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mjpegtools

Or similarly, like this mjpegtools

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mjpegtools
