How To Uninstall mkgmap On Debian 8

To uninstall mkgmap just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mkgmap

Generate Garmin maps from OpenStreetMap dataDebian 8.0utils0.0.0+svn3333-1
sudo apt-get remove mkgmap

This will remove just the mkgmap package itself.

Uninstall mkgmap and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mkgmap

This will remove the mkgmap package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mkgmap then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mkgmap

Or similarly, like this mkgmap

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mkgmap
