How To Uninstall mkvtoolnix On Debian 8

To uninstall mkvtoolnix just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mkvtoolnix

Set of command-line tools to work with Matroska filesDebian 8.0video7.3.0-1
sudo apt-get remove mkvtoolnix

This will remove just the mkvtoolnix package itself.

Uninstall mkvtoolnix and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mkvtoolnix

This will remove the mkvtoolnix package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mkvtoolnix then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mkvtoolnix

Or similarly, like this mkvtoolnix

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mkvtoolnix
