How To Uninstall module-init-tools On Debian 8

To uninstall module-init-tools just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just module-init-tools

transitional dummy package (module-init-tools to kmod)Debian 8.0admin18-3
sudo apt-get remove module-init-tools

This will remove just the module-init-tools package itself.

Uninstall module-init-tools and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove module-init-tools

This will remove the module-init-tools package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for module-init-tools then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge module-init-tools

Or similarly, like this module-init-tools

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove module-init-tools
