How To Uninstall monit On Debian 8

To uninstall monit just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just monit

utility for monitoring and managing daemons or similar programsDebian 8.0admin1:5.9-1+deb8u1
sudo apt-get remove monit

This will remove just the monit package itself.

Uninstall monit and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove monit

This will remove the monit package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for monit then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge monit

Or similarly, like this monit

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove monit
