How To Uninstall monitoring-plugins On Debian 8

To uninstall monitoring-plugins just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just monitoring-plugins

Plugins for nagios compatible monitoring systems (metapackage)Debian 8.0net2.1.1-1
sudo apt-get remove monitoring-plugins

This will remove just the monitoring-plugins package itself.

Uninstall monitoring-plugins and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove monitoring-plugins

This will remove the monitoring-plugins package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for monitoring-plugins then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge monitoring-plugins

Or similarly, like this monitoring-plugins

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove monitoring-plugins
