How To Uninstall mono-gmcs On Debian 8

To uninstall mono-gmcs just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mono-gmcs

Mono C# 2.0 and C# 3.0 compiler for CLI 2.0 (transitional package)Debian 8.0cli-mono3.2.8+dfsg-10
sudo apt-get remove mono-gmcs

This will remove just the mono-gmcs package itself.

Uninstall mono-gmcs and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mono-gmcs

This will remove the mono-gmcs package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mono-gmcs then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mono-gmcs

Or similarly, like this mono-gmcs

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mono-gmcs
