How To Uninstall mono-runtime On Debian 8

To uninstall mono-runtime just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mono-runtime

Mono runtime - default versionDebian 8.0cli-mono3.2.8+dfsg-10
sudo apt-get remove mono-runtime

This will remove just the mono-runtime package itself.

Uninstall mono-runtime and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mono-runtime

This will remove the mono-runtime package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mono-runtime then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mono-runtime

Or similarly, like this mono-runtime

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mono-runtime
