How To Uninstall monodevelop On Debian 8

To uninstall monodevelop just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just monodevelop

Development Environment for GNOMEDebian 8.0cli-mono4.0.12+dfsg-6
sudo apt-get remove monodevelop

This will remove just the monodevelop package itself.

Uninstall monodevelop and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove monodevelop

This will remove the monodevelop package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for monodevelop then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge monodevelop

Or similarly, like this monodevelop

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove monodevelop
