How To Uninstall mpeg3-utils On Debian 8

To uninstall mpeg3-utils just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mpeg3-utils

MPEG streams decoding libraryDebian 8.0utils1.8.dfsg-2
sudo apt-get remove mpeg3-utils

This will remove just the mpeg3-utils package itself.

Uninstall mpeg3-utils and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mpeg3-utils

This will remove the mpeg3-utils package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mpeg3-utils then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mpeg3-utils

Or similarly, like this mpeg3-utils

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mpeg3-utils
