How To Uninstall mpgtx On Debian 8

To uninstall mpgtx just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mpgtx

toolbox to manipulate MPEG files (video, system, and audio)Debian 8.0sound1.3.1-5
sudo apt-get remove mpgtx

This will remove just the mpgtx package itself.

Uninstall mpgtx and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mpgtx

This will remove the mpgtx package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mpgtx then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mpgtx

Or similarly, like this mpgtx

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mpgtx
