How To Uninstall mplayerthumbs On Debian 8

To uninstall mplayerthumbs just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mplayerthumbs

sudo apt-get remove mplayerthumbs

This will remove just the mplayerthumbs package itself.

Uninstall mplayerthumbs and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mplayerthumbs

This will remove the mplayerthumbs package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mplayerthumbs then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mplayerthumbs

Or similarly, like this mplayerthumbs

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mplayerthumbs
