How To Uninstall mrbayes On Debian 8

To uninstall mrbayes just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mrbayes

Bayesian Inference of PhylogenyDebian 8.0science3.2.3+dfsg-1
sudo apt-get remove mrbayes

This will remove just the mrbayes package itself.

Uninstall mrbayes and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mrbayes

This will remove the mrbayes package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mrbayes then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mrbayes

Or similarly, like this mrbayes

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mrbayes
