How To Uninstall mrename On Debian 8

To uninstall mrename just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mrename

A tool for easy and automatic renaming of many filesDebian 8.0utils1.2-12
sudo apt-get remove mrename

This will remove just the mrename package itself.

Uninstall mrename and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mrename

This will remove the mrename package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mrename then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mrename

Or similarly, like this mrename

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mrename
