How To Uninstall mtd-utils On Debian 8

To uninstall mtd-utils just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mtd-utils

Memory Technology Device UtilitiesDebian 8.0utils1:1.5.1-1
sudo apt-get remove mtd-utils

This will remove just the mtd-utils package itself.

Uninstall mtd-utils and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mtd-utils

This will remove the mtd-utils package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mtd-utils then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mtd-utils

Or similarly, like this mtd-utils

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mtd-utils
