How To Uninstall mu4e On Debian 8

To uninstall mu4e just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mu4e

e-mail client for Emacs based on mu (maildir-utils)Debian 8.0lisp0.9.9.6-5
sudo apt-get remove mu4e

This will remove just the mu4e package itself.

Uninstall mu4e and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mu4e

This will remove the mu4e package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mu4e then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mu4e

Or similarly, like this mu4e

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mu4e
