How To Uninstall multitail On Debian 8

To uninstall multitail just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just multitail

view multiple logfiles windowed on consoleDebian 8.0utils6.2.1-1
sudo apt-get remove multitail

This will remove just the multitail package itself.

Uninstall multitail and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove multitail

This will remove the multitail package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for multitail then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge multitail

Or similarly, like this multitail

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove multitail
