How To Uninstall myrescue On Debian 8

To uninstall myrescue just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just myrescue

rescue data from damaged harddisksDebian 8.0utils0.9.4-5+b1
sudo apt-get remove myrescue

This will remove just the myrescue package itself.

Uninstall myrescue and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove myrescue

This will remove the myrescue package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for myrescue then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge myrescue

Or similarly, like this myrescue

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove myrescue
