How To Uninstall nano On Debian 8

To uninstall nano just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just nano

linuxsmall, friendly text editor inspired by Picoeditors2.2.6-3
sudo apt-get remove nano

This will remove just the nano package itself.

Uninstall nano and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove nano

This will remove the nano package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for nano then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge nano

Or similarly, like this nano

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove nano
