How To Uninstall ncmpc On Debian 8

To uninstall ncmpc just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just ncmpc

linuxncurses-based audio playersound0.24-1
sudo apt-get remove ncmpc

This will remove just the ncmpc package itself.

Uninstall ncmpc and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ncmpc

This will remove the ncmpc package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for ncmpc then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge ncmpc

Or similarly, like this ncmpc

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ncmpc
