How To Uninstall ncurses-base On Debian 8

To uninstall ncurses-base just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just ncurses-base

linuxbasic terminal type definitionsmisc5.9+20140913-1
sudo apt-get remove ncurses-base

This will remove just the ncurses-base package itself.

Uninstall ncurses-base and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ncurses-base

This will remove the ncurses-base package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for ncurses-base then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge ncurses-base

Or similarly, like this ncurses-base

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ncurses-base
