How To Uninstall netcat-traditional On Debian 8

To uninstall netcat-traditional just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just netcat-traditional

linuxTCP/IP swiss army knifenet1.10-41
sudo apt-get remove netcat-traditional

This will remove just the netcat-traditional package itself.

Uninstall netcat-traditional and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove netcat-traditional

This will remove the netcat-traditional package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for netcat-traditional then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge netcat-traditional

Or similarly, like this netcat-traditional

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove netcat-traditional
