How To Uninstall newmail On Debian 8

To uninstall newmail just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just newmail

linuxNotificator for incoming mailmail0.5-2
sudo apt-get remove newmail

This will remove just the newmail package itself.

Uninstall newmail and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove newmail

This will remove the newmail package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for newmail then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge newmail

Or similarly, like this newmail

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove newmail
