How To Uninstall nginx-common On Debian 8

To uninstall nginx-common just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just nginx-common

linuxsmall, powerful, scalable web/proxy server - common fileshttpd1.6.2-5+deb8u4
sudo apt-get remove nginx-common

This will remove just the nginx-common package itself.

Uninstall nginx-common and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove nginx-common

This will remove the nginx-common package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for nginx-common then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge nginx-common

Or similarly, like this nginx-common

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove nginx-common
