How To Uninstall nmap On Debian 8

To uninstall nmap just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just nmap

linuxThe Network Mappernet6.47-3+deb8u2
sudo apt-get remove nmap

This will remove just the nmap package itself.

Uninstall nmap and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove nmap

This will remove the nmap package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for nmap then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge nmap

Or similarly, like this nmap

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove nmap
