How To Uninstall python-astroid On Debian 8

To uninstall python-astroid just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just python-astroid

rebuild a new abstract syntax tree from Python's ASTDebian 8.0python1.2.1-3
sudo apt-get remove python-astroid

This will remove just the python-astroid package itself.

Uninstall python-astroid and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove python-astroid

This will remove the python-astroid package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for python-astroid then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge python-astroid

Or similarly, like this python-astroid

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove python-astroid
