How To Uninstall python-gconf On Debian 8

To uninstall python-gconf just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just python-gconf

Python bindings for the GConf configuration database systemDebian 8.0python2.28.1+dfsg-1.1
sudo apt-get remove python-gconf

This will remove just the python-gconf package itself.

Uninstall python-gconf and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove python-gconf

This will remove the python-gconf package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for python-gconf then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge python-gconf

Or similarly, like this python-gconf

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove python-gconf
