How To Uninstall python-gi On Debian 8

To uninstall python-gi just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just python-gi

Python 2.x bindings for gobject-introspection librariesDebian 8.0python3.14.0-1
sudo apt-get remove python-gi

This will remove just the python-gi package itself.

Uninstall python-gi and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove python-gi

This will remove the python-gi package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for python-gi then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge python-gi

Or similarly, like this python-gi

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove python-gi
