How To Uninstall python-ipdb On Debian 8

To uninstall python-ipdb just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just python-ipdb

IPython-based pdb replacementDebian 8.0python0.8-1
sudo apt-get remove python-ipdb

This will remove just the python-ipdb package itself.

Uninstall python-ipdb and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove python-ipdb

This will remove the python-ipdb package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for python-ipdb then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge python-ipdb

Or similarly, like this python-ipdb

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove python-ipdb
