How To Uninstall python-msgpack On Debian 8

To uninstall python-msgpack just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just python-msgpack

Python implementation of MessagePack formatDebian 8.0python0.4.2-1
sudo apt-get remove python-msgpack

This will remove just the python-msgpack package itself.

Uninstall python-msgpack and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove python-msgpack

This will remove the python-msgpack package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for python-msgpack then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge python-msgpack

Or similarly, like this python-msgpack

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove python-msgpack
