How To Uninstall python-py On Debian 8

To uninstall python-py just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just python-py

Advanced Python development support library (Python 2)Debian 8.0python1.4.25-1
sudo apt-get remove python-py

This will remove just the python-py package itself.

Uninstall python-py and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove python-py

This will remove the python-py package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for python-py then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge python-py

Or similarly, like this python-py

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove python-py
