How To Uninstall velvet-example On Debian 8

To uninstall velvet-example just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just velvet-example

Example data for the Velvet sequence assemblerDebian 8.0science1.2.10+dfsg1-1
sudo apt-get remove velvet-example

This will remove just the velvet-example package itself.

Uninstall velvet-example and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove velvet-example

This will remove the velvet-example package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for velvet-example then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge velvet-example

Or similarly, like this velvet-example

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove velvet-example
